Good Morning Gorgeous Babies!
Sunshine Blogger Nomination
The beautiful Leil over at www.catsandcoffeex.co.uk was kind enough to nominate me for The Sunshine Blogger Award. The Sunshine Blogger Award is peer recognition for bloggers that inspire positivity and joy. She’s such a supportive little sweetheart – take a read of her blog! Anybody who collects Pop Vinyl’s is on my vibe. Thanks girl!
The rules are: once nominated, you must answer the 11 questions asked of you; nominate another 11 bloggers and ask them 11 questions in turn.
The 11 Questions Leil asked me were:
1. What made you start blogging?
I first started to blog age 18 at University. I was studying Journalism, and I remember sniggering when my Lecturer started talking about ‘Tweeting’ and ‘Blogging’- at the time it was only really being used amongst politicians and to discuss the news and I found the words a little ridiculous. I begun to see blogging as a necessity and not something personal. I lost touch until eight years later, when I started studying again with the Open University, and realised it was a way to enjoy writing for pleasure whilst working full-time and studying; a bit of an outlet. Now I’ve graduated I’ve got so much more time to invest in it, which is amazing.
2. If you could live anywhere In the world where would It be?
I like where I’m headed at the moment. I’m moving over to Ireland in October to live by the coast. It’s going to be weird as right now I live smack bang in the middle of Brighton and London, so I’m used to the hustle. For now though, that will suit me, but later in life I’d like to live in Spain or Greece. I adore being in the sunshine, it brings out the best in people. When I was little I loved the idea of New York … this may have been down to the amount of S.A.T.C. I watched, though.
3. What do you like to do to unwind?
I like to indulge in a little puzzle book in the peace and quiet with a cuppa tea. If I’m really pushing the boat out, a full-body massage is the absolute one.
4. What’s your job?
For the last eight years I’ve been an Office Manager in a School Office. I’m leaving for Ireland and hoping to use my degree towards a career in publishing. I’ve pretty much only ever worked in administration so it will be good to get out and do something different … ideally with books and not people!
5. What’s your favourite film?
A Little Princess, because ‘all girls are princesses’. It tears me up every time. My dad had moved away at the time it was released and I really related to Sara. Who doesn’t want a friendship like Sara and Becky’s?
6. Do you have any pets?
I did have twins. Cats, that is. But recently my gorgeous Princess ran away and never came home. I’ve been devastated ever since. Her brother, Marshall, has been so sad since she left. Sadly, she was far more affectionate and active than he is, so it’s been a huge shock to lose her and had quite the effect on the household. I just hope if she’s been picked up, someone loves her as much as I do. I’m not sure I’ll be getting any new pets for a while. Losing them is hard, we only lost our childhood dog Poppy last summer, so it’s been heartbreak all round!
7. Night in or out?
I hate to say this as all I do is stay in, but night in! I love going out when I’m out, but it’s the logistics I can’t stand. Booking taxis, overpriced drinks, not having time to get ready or panicking about how I look, worrying about getting home. Bleurgh. All of that just puts me off. Ideally I’d go to the pub for 3 or 4 then head home to carry on the party in my P.J.s.
8. What’s your favourite thing to blog about?
Mée, I suppose! I’ve tried so many times to come up with the one thing or niche that I love to blog about the most but I just can’t. Love me or hate me, you’re gonna get all of me!
9. Does pineapple go on pizza?
Hell yeah! I saw a menu the other day in a lovely little café, serving toasties with ham, cheese and pineapple in. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of that myself. Yum!
10. Where do you usually blog?
At home. Inspiration can strike anywhere, so I always keep a notepad on me, and more recently my camera and tablet just in case; but the majority happens at home. I like to have everything I need around me. Alternatively, I LOVE the Starbucks local to me, it’s now 24 hours too which is a win and is never too loud.
11. Favourite hobby?
I enjoy writing and illustrating. My dream is to be a children’s book writer, so I’m always messing around, trying to create story boards or drawing cartoon characters.
